St Michael & All Angels, Lawton Moor
St Michael's Church serves the parish and community of Northern Moor. As well as regular worship there are a number of activities in the Community Hall.
St Michael's is not a formal member of the Wythenshawe Team but shares its parish priest with the parish of St Martin's within the Team. We work closely together as a group of parishes.
About St Michael's
St Michael & All Angels, is a grade II* listed building which was consecrated on 4th December 1937 to the design by the Architect Catchmaille-Day. It is unique in that from a bird's eye view it is in the shape of a star (two interlocking squares). The other striking features are the impressive stained glass east windows and the chandelier.
St Michael's is the parish church in the urban community of Lawton Moor (also known as Northern Moor), Manchester. The church has a mixed congregation of very friendly and welcoming people. The tradition is liberal catholic with a mixture of traditional and modern styles of music. The main Sunday service is at 9.30am. Everyone is welcome to join us.
At the end of worship on Sundays we catch up with the week's news, whilst sharing in refreshments in the Community Hall.
St Michael's Parish Community Hall –adjacent to the church– is a central hub in the parish for community amenities, including recreational, learning, healthy living, counselling and activities for all ages.
The church holds events in the Community Hall including fund raising activities, study groups, arts & craft, Bible study, all for fellowship, to aid good discipleship and spiritual growth and our mission and outreach to the local community.
