Baptisms, Wedding and Funerals

Pastoral Care is at the heart of the Church of England's parish ministry. This page will be updated soon with more information about baptisms, weddings and funerals in the Wythenshawe churches.

Christenings
(Holy Baptism)

In baptism, parents thank God for his gift of life, make a decision to start the child on the journey of faith and ask for the Church's support. Find out more.

If you have booked a Christening you can read more information about the service here

Weddings
Today more than a quarter of all heterosexual marriages in England take place before God in the traditional setting of a Church of England church and so you're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church. However, currently the Church of England does not allow same-sex weddings to take place in churches. Read more about marriage here.

Funerals
A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world. Read more.

We also have special events to help with bereavement and thinking about death. GraveTalk is an informal cafe to help you think about some of the most important, and yet difficult, emotions. Find out more.
