Inclusive Church
All our churches are working to becoming more inclusive. During 2017 and 2018 we all adopted the Inclusive Church statement (as did all the churches in the Deanery of Withington) and continue our journey exploring and valuing the diversity and beauty of the Kingdom of God alive in the Church.
The Inclusive Church statement reads: We believe in inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ. A fairer world, a just world, a loving world...Alongside our inclusive Church journey we are also adopted other policies and commitments. All our churches have signed up to the Breastfeeding Friendly Manchester scheme, we have signed up to serve only Fairtrade goods when possible, and we have stopped using single-use plastics.
